Police on Friday arrested 34-year-old Curtis T. Bryan and charged him in a domestic assault that took place on Christmas day.

According to the V.I. Police Department, at 11:11 p.m. Dec. 25, a woman reported to police that a male acquaintance, who she identified as Bryan, has strangled her at the Louis E. Brown Villas in Frederiksted.

The victim’s name was not released by police in accordance with department policy.

Since December Bryan had evaded capture by police until Friday, when he was apprehended at the Louis E. Brown Villas by members of the Special Operations Bureau.

Bryan was charged with second-degree assault/domestic violence, and simple assault and battery/domestic violence. He was then remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Center pending advice of rights hearing. No bail was set as per the domestic violence statute.
