Motorcyclist Killed in Collision with Pickup

An unidentified man was killed Saturday morning when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a pickup truck on St. Croix’s Northside Road in the vicinity of Straker Motors in Estate Glynn.

The victim’s name was not released as of Sunday evening pending notification of the next of kin.

According to the V.I. Police Department, at about 9:17 a.m. Saturday a Ford F150 pickup truck was traveling north on Northside Road when it collided with a motorcycle traveling south on the same road.

The victim, described by the police as a 39-year-old black male with dreadlocks, was thrown off the motorcycle and succumbed to his injuries.

The driver for the truck sustained minor injuries. The motorcycle was not registered or insured to be on the road, according to the VIPD.

The VIPD Traffic Investigations Bureau is in charge of the case.
