Crime Stoppers Doubles Reward for ‘Crime of the Week’ Tips

Crime Stoppers USVI is now offering double rewards on tips leading to the arrest of an individual or individuals, recovered property, or illegal drugs and weapons featured in the crime of the week case.

“The territory has been plagued with an onslaught of homicides in the last few weeks,” a Wednesday Crime Stoppers news release said. The VIPD reported five homicides in the territory in April.

“If you are concerned by the increase of criminal activity and know something, do the right thing and say something. Yesterday your neighbor lost a family member, tomorrow it could be your family,” the statement said.

– On Thursday, Sept. 5, 2018, a citizen made a missing persons report to the VIPD. Officers then made a welfare check at the victim’s apartment at Mutual Homes Housing Grove Place, where they discovered the body of 29-year-old Akuojo J. Jackman in the apartment’s living room with several gunshots wounds to the body. Officers also discovered that Jackman’s vehicle, a blue Mazda 3, was missing from the parking lot of the victim’s apartment building.

Chris Prentis “Mobo,” a 38-year-old black man from St. Thomas, is missing on St.Thomas. He was last seen Sept. 4, 2018 in St. John. He is 5’8″, weighs 210 pounds with a medium build, and has dark brown eyes and short brown hair. He has scars on his throat and stomach, as well as a star tattoo on his shoulder.

Crime Stoppers urged anyone who knows either his whereabouts or of any criminal act involving him to call Crime Stoppers.
