DPW to Celebrate National Public Works Week Territory-wide

The Virgin Islands Department of Public Works

In recognition of National Public Works Week, the Department of Public Works will be hosting a series of events this week to show appreciation to the men and women of the department.

“We value our communities and the role public works professionals play in keeping them safe and functioning smoothly,” reports the American Public Works Association. “Our objective is designed to increase public awareness of their contributions as well as to enlighten the public about the duties, practices and goals of public works professionals.”

Among the activities scheduled is an Employee Appreciation Day in each district, as well as a project tour in the St. Thomas-St. John District, which will require offices to be closed on the following dates:

St. Croix District – Wednesday, May 22 – CLOSED ALL DAY
St. Thomas-St. John District – Thursday, May 23 – CLOSED from 9 a.m. to noon and on Friday, May 24 – CLOSED ALL DAY
