Raheem A. Thomas Dies at 26

Raheem A. Thomas

Raheem A. Thomas died on Sept. 5. He was 26 years old.

He was preceded in death by Diane Horsford (mother), Ray Thomas Sr. (father), Dorothy Horsford (grandmother), and Keith and Richard Horsford (uncles).

He is survived by his daughter, Roniesha Thomas; brothers: Ray Jr., Ras-cine and Rasheed Thomas; sisters: Sherisma Thomas-Canton, Kenisha and Raynelle Thomas; brother-in-law, Shawn Canton Sr.; grandmother, Alice Maynard; grandfathers: Wilmot Horsford and Edwin Thomas Sr.; aunts: Sandra and Nicole Horsford, Marcy Encarnacion, Angela Maynard, Judith James, Laurie Thomas-Jacobs, Sandra and Diedre Thomas, and Vanessa Thomas-Berrios; and uncles: Leander Horsford, Harry, Jeffrey and Richard Maynard, Henry, Dean and Edwin Thomas Jr.

He is also survived by aunts and great uncles: Shirley O’Reilly, Delita Civil, Iris Sarauw, Rhea Hodge, Bernice Richards, Gaynel Turner, Warren Briscoe, Alphonso and Genix Thomas, Elroy, Norris, Winston, Mario, Austin and Dar-yl Moorehead, Paulina Horsford, Zelma Horsford, Loma Horsford, Rosetta Stevens, Azzulla Forde, Corine Horsford and Virginia Hennemann, Paul Horsford and Rosaldo Horsford.

Other survivors include: nieces and nephews: Shakia, Shawn Jr., Shakori and Shakoya Canton, Tahjari, Kristaszia and K’Ziyah Lynch, Ee’Neicia Sanes, Kamya, Rosai and Kascine Thomas; special cousins: Shanika Farrell, Keisha and Keith Horsford Jr., David Morton, Malik and Shakeel Iles, Elijah, Em-manuel, K’Mani and Ny’ Kayla George, Shelima Maynard, Akiel, Shenequa, Indira and Donald Ringham, Lateefah Smith and many others too numerous to mention.

The family requests those in attendance wear festive colors.

A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 1, at City of Refuge Worship Center. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
