Police are investigating two cases, not necessarily related, in which two 19-year-old St. Thomas men were treated early Sunday for stab wounds.
According to police reports:
– At about 19 minutes after midnight Sunday morning, a 19-year-old St. Thomas man was seated on the left side of Tap and Still at Port of Sale Mall, facing the parking lot.
The victim told police that an unknown woman shouted, “You got stabbed!” Looking down at his shirt, he saw that he indeed had been stabbed and his shirt was bloody.
The victim told police he has no knowledge of who may have stabbed him.
The victim added that while he was at the bar, a medic from the VIPD Special Operations Unit assisted him medically until he was transported to the Schneider Regional Medical Center.
The victim sustained a puncture wound to the left side of his upper torso.
– Just four minutes later, about 23 minutes after midnight, patrol units were dispatched to the Schneider Regional Medical Center in response to a report of a man being stabbed. At the hospital police made contact with the victim, who refused to give a statement.
Police determined the victim had been stabbed in the area of Wendy’s by an unknown male.
The victim said he did not know the identity of his assailant. He received a puncture wound to the thigh and received four stitches.
