Public Works Engaging in Rebranding Initiative

The Virgin Islands Department of Public Works

Over the last few months, the Department of Public Works (DPW) has been engaged in a rebranding initiative with the purpose of modernizing and improving the quality of the department’s output. This effort is spearheaded by the department’s newly implemented Strategic Development Office (SDO), which was designed to meet strategic goals defined by Commissioner Nelson Petty Jr., focusing on but not limited to:
« Strategic Project Oversight
« Policy Development
« Content Creation
« Brand Management
« Marketing/Public Information Campaigns

The rebranding, which includes a top-to-bottom redesign of DPW’s logo, graphics, communications and correspondence, is aimed at enhancing the brand through consistent messaging and developing the look and feel of every facet of the department.

Since the Strategic Development Office’s inception in September, DPW has increased its productivities; this will continue in the coming months. “We envision a department that is proactive, strategic and equipped to deliver results,” said the commissioner. “This rebranding initiative is just one step in an overarching plan, geared towards improving the quality of life for our residents and visitors alike.”

Although the department’s brand is changing, DPW remains focused on fulfilling its mandate of planning, constructing and maintaining public roads, highways, storm drainage systems, buildings, transportation systems, parking facilities and cemeteries.

The Department of Public Works appreciates the community’s patience as it works to improve road conditions throughout the territory. Follow DPW on Facebook @usvidpw and @vitranusvi. For more information, logon to www.dpw.vi.gov or www.vitranvi.com to stay abreast of all things V.I. Public Works.
