Police ID Saturday’s Fatal Shooting Victim

Police on Sunday identified the victim of a fatal shooting that took place Saturday in the area of Nadir Circle. The man was identified as 27-year-old Jackeel L. Henry.

He was pronounced dead on the scene Saturday.

At about 11:50 a.m. Saturday the V.I. Police Department responded to a shooting that occurred in the area of Nadir Circle. Detectives found Henry, unresponsive, in the roadway with gunshot wounds to his body.

A female victim was also struck by gunfire and was transported to Schneider Regional Medical Center for further medical treatment. Police have not provided information about her condition. The police also have not identified the woman to the public, in pursuance of department policy.

Police urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-774-2211, ext. 5606. They also can contact 911 or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477.

Information sent to Crime Stoppers that results in a case being resolved can qualify the caller for an anonymous cash reward.
