STT Man in Stable Condition After Being Shot

A man who was shot walking in Estate Anna’s Fancy Friday night was in stable condition as of noon Saturday, the V.I. Police Department reported.

The man’s name was not released by police, in accordance with department policy.

According to the report, at about 10:37 p.m. Friday police were dispatched to the Schneider Regional Medical Center in reference to a gunshot victim.

At the hospital the victim told officers he had been walking in Anna’s Fancy in the vicinity of Rosa’s Bar when a dark colored vehicle drove by with its high beam headlights on. An occupant in the vehicle fired several shots at him.

Realizing he had been shot, the victim ran to his residence, got into his private vehicle and drove himself to the hospital for treatment. He further stated that the vehicle that fired the shots at him sped away westward on Harwood Highway.

He said he did not see who fired the shots. The victim sustained two gunshot wounds and was in stable condition.
