VI Fire Service Issues Territory-wide Ban on Burning

Due to dry weather conditions, the Virgin Islands Fire Service (VIFS) has issued a ban on burning. Effective Friday, May 22, all outdoor burning will be temporarily prohibited in the territory.

Existing burn permits will be suspended, and no new permits will be issued.

For additional information, residents and businesses may contact the Arson Investigation and Prevention Units in their respective

district. The Arson Investigation and Prevention Units in the St. Thomas-St. John District can be reached at 774-7610; the units in the St. Croix District can be reached at 773-8050.
