VIPD Announces Restriction on Granting of Mass Gathering Permits

Virgin Islands Police Department

The Virgin Islands Police Department reminds the public that anyone wishing to hold an event that encourages “mass gatherings,” or groups of more than 50 people, needs to apply for a permit with VIPD.

The public is advised that although the U.S. Virgin Islands is in the “open doors” phase of COVID-19 operations, restrictions on mass gatherings are still in place. Therefore, VIPD will not be granting permits for any event that will encourage gatherings of more than 50 people.

Members of the community are encouraged to call VIPD at 340-774-2211 on St. Thomas or 340-778-2211 on St. Croix to get more information on this policy.
