Man Injured in Grove Place Shooting Incident on STX

A man was injured by gunfire Sunday evening in Grove Place on St. Croix, after multiple gunshots were fired by moving vehicles, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to police, at about 8:30 p.m. June 21,, the 911 Emergency Call center received a report of multiple shots being fired by cars driving through the area.

At the scene, police learned the shooters “had no regard for bystanders in the surrounding area.

During the incident, a male victim who was driving on the road was shot in the shoulder by a stray bullet, police said. The victim, whose name was not released by police n accordance with department policy, was transported to the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital via private vehicle for treatment.
