A man was treated for his injuries at the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital Tuesday after being shot by someone who apparently knew his name, the V.I. Police Department reported.
According to police, at about 4:11 p.m. on June 23, the 911 emergency call center received a report of shots being fired in Grove Place, in the vicinity of the Eulalie R. Rivera K-8 School. A second call reported that a male gunshot victim had been taken to the hospital via private vehicle.
The victim told officers he had been on Grove Place Road, and someone called out his name. Subsequently, an unknown person shot at his vehicle, hitting him in the arm and leg.
Officers on the scene found a vehicle with bullet holes and numerous spent shell casings, which were collected for evidence.
