Shots Fired in Sion Farm; None Injured

A family was at home asleep shortly after midnight Wednesday when shots were fired by unknown gunmen, striking the house and breaking windows but not injuring any of the occupants.

According to the V.I. Police Department, at 12:42 a.m. July 1, detectives of the Criminal Investigation Bureau were notified to travel to Sion Farm where a residence has been impacted by gunshots.

The victims’ names were not released by police in accordance with department policy.

The homeowner reported that her family members were asleep when they were awakened by loud gunfire and the sounds of bullets hitting the house.

The residents took evasive measures to avoid getting injured by the gunfire, she said. No one in the home was injured. There was bullet damage at the front of the house and bullet holes in the windows and interior walls.

The VIPD urged anyone with information about the shooting to call 911, the Crime TipLine at 340-778-4950, or Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477 (1-800-222-TIPS).
