Education Department Makes Changes in Operations in Response to COVID-19

U.S, Virgin Islands Department of Education

The Virgin Islands Department of Education (DOE) will suspend all in-person interactions with the public at its state and district offices on St. Thomas and St. Croix, effective Monday, Aug. 17. While offices will remain open, only telephone or email communication with the department will be available through Aug. 28.

The change in operations follows Governor Albert Bryan Jr.’s announcement on Aug. 13 to return to the territory’s “Stay-at-Home” reopening phase due to the recent spike in coronavirus cases in the community.

DOE reaffirms that the health and safety of its employees are a top priority.

For questions about public school registration, contact the St. Croix District at student.services@stx.k12.vi or the St. Thomas-St. John District at sttregistration@vide.vi. Visit www.vide.vi  ‘For Families;’ complete the pre-registration form online; obtain and submit the required health clearances.

For general questions, contact the Department of Education’s main offices on St. Thomas at 774-0100 or on St. Croix at 773-1095, or send an email to public.relations@vide.vi.
