DLCA Launches Consumer Recall Page

Virgin Islands Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs

The Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs (DLCA) Consumer Affairs Division has announced the addition of its newest page, a consumer recall page.

“We continue to revamp DLCA’s online database to make it more accessible and informative for both our internal and external customers,” said DLCA Commissioner Richard Evangelista.

The consumer recall page is designed to timely inform everyone about recalls that may occur in food; in more than 15,000 kinds of consumer products used in and around the home and in sports, recreation and schools; in motor vehicles and related equipment; and in recreational boats and related equipment.

The information is provided by the following various well- known resource organizations: The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, The United States Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, The United States Coast Guard, The United States Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service, The United States Food and Drug Administration, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

To access the recall page, visit www.dlca.vi.gov; click on Consumer Affairs and then recall. When on the recall page, click a topic to be directed to that organization’s official recall page. In addition, DLCA has launched a YouTube channel. If anyone has missed any of DLCA’s radio, community efforts and Facebook lives, visit and subscribe at DLCA USVI.

As a reminder, DLCA may still be contacted by using its main telephone lines at 713-3522 on St. Croix, 714-3522 on St. Thomas or 474-2800 on St. John. The DLCA staff no longer has use of multiple lines; at times calls may be delayed. If a caller is experiencing these delays, DLCA has an employee cellphone listing to contact the caller’s representative directly. View this listing by visiting the website at www.dlca.vi.gov; click on contact, then employee directory.

If there are issues with contacting the Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs office, call the Office of the DLCA Commissioner at 713-6916 or 725-5129. DLCA can also be reached at consumerawareness@dlca.vi.gov or follow it on Facebook @dlcavi.
