Man Treated for Injuries from La Grange Shooting

The Gov. Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital treated and released a 27-year-old male who had been injured in a shooting incident Thursday morning in Estate La Grange on St. Croix, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to police, at 9:55 a.m., Thursday, the 911 emergency call center was notified of a shooting incident in Estate La Grange.

The victim, whose name was not released by police in accordance with department policy, told officers he had been reported driving to his residence when he heard a gunshot coming from behind his vehicle when he was near his home. He said he noticed the rear windshield was damaged and realized he had been shot.

The victim made it to his residence and was able to call a friend, who transported him to the hospital. The suspect was seen fleeing into the bushes – in the vicinity of Krystal Springs Water – and a white SUV was also observed driving recklessly in the area traveling south.

Police urged anyone with information about the case to call 911, the Crime TipLine at 340-778-4950, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477 (1-800-222-TIPS). Reports to Crime Stoppers that help resolve a crime can earn the caller an anonymous cash reward.
