Shooting Leaves Two Men Injured

Two men were injured by gunfire Thursday morning in Estate Pearl on St. Croix, the V.I. Police Department reported.

According to police, at 11:52 a.m. Thursday the 911 Emergency Call Center was notified of two male gunshot victims who entered the Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital for treatment.

Police said the investigation revealed two adult males were fired on by unknown assailants near the University of the Virgin Islands wetlands in Estate Pearl. One victim was treated and released; the other victim underwent emergency surgery and as of Friday morning was in serious but stable condition.

Police urged anyone with information about the case to call 911, the Crime TipLine at 340-778-4950, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477 (1-800-222-TIPS). Reports to Crime Stoppers that help resolve a crime can earn the caller an anonymous cash reward.
