Agenda:

The committee on Youth, Sports, Parks and Recreation has scheduled a meeting to receive testimony on the

following:

BLOCK I

10 a.m. to Noon

The committee will receive an update from the Caribbean Drag Racing Association relative to the St. Croix Drag Racing Track.

LUNCH

Noon to 1 p.m.

BLOCK II

1 – 4 p.m.

The committee will hear from key stakeholders regarding the state of the Virgin Islands Horse Racing Industry, including but not limited to the franchise and development agreements for the Randall “Doc” James Racetrack and the Clinton E. Phipps Racetrack.

Committee on Health, Hospitals and Human Services

Agenda:

The committee has scheduled a hearing to receive testimony on the Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital and Medical Center’s audit, the status of JFL North, staffing levels and the recruitment process at the hospital. The committee will also receive testimony on underage drug use, specifically edibles, in the public schools and the territory as well as an update on COVID-19 in the territory.

The committee will meet to consider the following:

The committee will consider the following from the Bureau of Corrections.

Provide an update of the Bureau’s operations under the federal consent decree and overall state of the agency.

To address security/safety and other issues impacting the Bureau of Corrections.

The committee will receive testimony from the Department of VITEMA, VIPD, VING and Human Services to give updates for the upcoming 2022 hurricane season.
