Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. issued a statement Sunday in support of the people of Puerto Rico as Hurricane Fiona made landfall along the island’s southwest coast.
“My thoughts and prayers are with our brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico tonight as they faced hurricane-force winds and catastrophic flooding as a result of Hurricane Fiona. Virgin Islanders know all too well the impacts these storms bring. We pray for the safety and well-being of everyone in Puerto Rico this evening as Fiona passes and pray for the safety of everyone in the immediate aftermath of the storm.”
