St. Thomas Coastal Zone Management Committee Meeting Set for July 28

Virgin Islands Department of Planning and Natural Resources

Commissioner Jean-Pierre L. Oriol of the Department of Planning and Natural Resources informs the public that the following St. Thomas Coastal Zone Management (CZM) Committee Meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m., Friday, July 28. This meeting will be held via the video conferencing platform Teams.

Decision Meeting (public testimony will not be heard)

Major CZM Permit Application No. CZT-01-23(L) Dry Marina LLC proposes to place a 20’ Office Trailer with 200-amp electrical service in the location of the existing trucking operation. Additionally, a new fuel storage facility is being proposed where the telecommunication company is currently located. It would call for the construction of a 40’x22’ steel frame workshop; a 10’x10’ guard house; a 30’x72’ concrete slab and spill containment system for storing ISO fuel tanks; a 10’x27’ concrete pad for 3,000-gallon double-walled diesel fuel tank; a 40’ office trailer; a 40’ storage trailer and a 200-amp electrical service. The project site is located at Parcel No. 17D-1 Estate Bovoni, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.

Federal Consistency Determination No. CZT-01-23(FC) V.I. Department of Education (VIDE) requests permission to use FEMA Funds to renovate and modernize the Bertha C. Boschulte School (BCB). The project scope includes items necessary to transition BCB into a PreK-8th grade campus. These items include the renovation/modernization of existing classrooms, new PreK-5th classrooms, administrative offices, library, cafeteria, kitchen, bathrooms, stairways, balconies, theater, hallways and all fixtures, equipment and contents. The project site is located at 9-1 and 12A Bovoni Road, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.

Federal Consistency Determination No. CZT-12-22(FC) V.I. Department of Education (VIDE) requests permission to use FEMA Funds to redesign and construct the Charlotte Amalie High School (CAHS). This project calls for the complete construction of a new school campus, including classrooms, administrative offices, library, cafeteria, kitchen, bathrooms, stairways, balconies, hallways and all fixtures, equipment and contents. The project site is located at 8 and 9 Alton Adams Sr. Drive, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands.
