Open Forum: GOP National Committeewoman Sets the Record Straight

It was wonderful to hear from many of you about the trip from Congressman Wesley Hunt to St Thomas and St Croix. For my supporters who were not able to attend — I want to share that this party wants you, and we will work to have you attend events and have your vote count.

I am compelled to address an article in the V.I. Source on January 18th, 2024. And an article in the Daily News on January 25th, that deliberately identified me as the former National Committeewoman of the U.S. Virgin Islands Republican Party. The piece, featuring information provided by Gordon Ackley, chairman of the Republican Party of the Virgin Islands, and Dennis Lennox, the party’s executive director, erroneously referred to me as the former National Committeewoman, when in fact, they know I currently hold this esteemed position. I urge you to visit the RNC webpage to see who is the National Committeewoman representing the U.S. Virgin Islands. (Membership Gallery GOP Republican National Committee)

There is a reason why they attack me and fellow grassroots Republicans. We are honest and we represent the people and won’t participate in breaking RNC and Virgin Islands GOP rules.

The article’s misrepresentation of my role within the party is a matter of great concern. It is essential to set the record straight and correct this misleading information. The dishonest characterization of me as the “former” National Committeewoman is a glaring disregard that has sowed confusion within our party and the wider community.

It is evident that these actions are a deliberate attempt to undermine my current position and the integrity of the party. By framing the narrative in this manner, they seek to discredit my authority and influence within the Republican Party of the Virgin Islands. It is regrettable that such underhanded tactics are being employed to distort the truth and manipulate the perception of party leadership.

As the current National Committeewoman, I am fully committed to upholding the principles of transparency, fairness, and accountability within the party. It is imperative that accurate information is disseminated to all stakeholders, and any attempt to obscure the truth must be strongly opposed.

In the lead-up to the caucus, it is my sincere hope that the focus will rightfully shift towards the real issues at hand, rather than being mired in misrepresentation and political maneuvering. The participation of Virgin Islands Republicans in the nomination phase of the campaign is a testament to our increasing voice and influence in the electoral process and leadership that represents Virgin Islanders in an honorable, honest way.

In conclusion, it is incumbent upon all party members and stakeholders to uphold the integrity of our constitutional republic and safeguard the truth from distortion and manipulation. I remain resolute in my commitment to serving the Republican Party Of The U.S. Virgin Islands and advocating for a fair and transparent caucus that accurately reflects the will of our people.
