Evelyn Elodia Baird Dies at 91

Evelyn Elodia Baird of Estate Grove Place died on July 20. She was 91 years old.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Helena E. Jonas-Rock; father, George Baird; son, Dean A. Thompson; sisters: Remo Frazer and Lima Frazer; and niece, Gloria Marcus.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Deanna Thompson; nieces: Agnes Buntin (N.Y.), Lydia and Sheila Frazer (N.Y.), Delores Boyd, Evelyn Frazer (STX); nephews: Cederic Innis (Calif.), Francis, Lucien, Brian, Douglas, Renaldo and Aubrey Frazer (N.Y.); great nieces: Hermina Marcus, Robyn Ransome, Jasmine Frazer, Desiree Simmonds, Angela Heywood, Avril Buntin and Dawn Samuel; and great nephews: Stacey Johannes, Rudy Marcus, Robert and Randy Ransome, and Dennis Greaves.

She is also survived by daughter-in-law, Robin Clarke-Thompson; and special friends: Kaila Estien (Caregiver), Louisa Jospeh, Grace Andrew, Dr. Risa Nielsen, Everne Rhymer, Dan and Gerda James, Geneieve F. Allen, Lola Schjang, Albert and Marie Schuster, Michael Lynch, Corine and Carolyn White and family, Pearl Purcell, Carina Nibbs, Daphney Lewis, Herman Marcus, Emma Ayala, Pevril Fredericks, Mr. and Mrs. Schrader, Claudia Kelly and Elizabeth Martinez.

Other survivors include cousins and other relatives: Karen and Clayton Williams, the entire Williams family, Ethlyn Brown and Inez James, Anita and Chazz Nibbs, Anna Lindo and family, Margorie Petersen and family, Debra Miller, the entire Miller family, Rufina and Bennett Smith and family, Lynette Ballantine and family, Desiree Chiverton and family, Urylee Burke and family, Lorraine LoveGreen and family; and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

The viewing will be held at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 20, at Faith Seventh-day Adventist Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
