Three women were arrested Wednesday in connection with an Oct. 31 assault and robbery in Frederiksted, St. Croix, the Virgin Islands Police Department reported.

Police said the victim reported on Nov. 3 that she had been assaulted by three women and was receiving threats and harassment. A detective from the Criminal Investigation Bureau was assigned to the case, according to the police report.

According to the investigation, the complainant was approached on Market Street around 11:45 p.m. by Milagros Peguero, Dreadisha Peguero, and Astia Lebron, and an argument turned physical. Police said the three women assaulted her, left visible injuries, and forcibly pulled two gold necklaces from her neck.

Arrest warrants were signed on Dec. 9. On Wednesday, officers arrested Milagros Peguero, 43, Dreadisha Peguero, 23, and Astia Lebron, 36, on charges of assault first, assault third, robbery first, robbery second, grand larceny, and simple assault and battery. Bail was set at $75,000, the police report stated.

Police said Lebron posted bail and was released pending her advice of rights hearing Thursday. Milagros Peguero and Dreadisha Peguero were unable to post bail and were remanded to the John Bell Correctional Facility pending their hearing in Superior Court.
