Rosita Margaret Hastings was born on Aug. 31, 1945, in Parson’s Village, St. Kitts, to Annette Wilkins and William Mills. She was known affectionately as “Diva” for her elegance and “Joba” for her strength and unshakable faith. She departed this life peacefully on the morning of Nov. 15, 2025. Raised in a household rooted in discipline, faith, and family, she learned early the values of hard work and education

Rosita was preceded in death by her husband, Charlesworth Kingsley Hastings, her brother, Charles “James” Wilkins, and her twin sister, Elinita Huggins.
Rosita leaves to cherish her memory of her five daughters: Hyacinth C. Daniel, Dr. Melissa L. Hastings-Lawhorn, Dr. Dacia P. Hastings Proctor, Avril R. Hastings, and Clarissa C. Hastings; her sons-in-law, Christopher J. Lawhorn, Sr. and Dr. Antwan T. Proctor, Sr.
She is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Ajani E.K. Daniel, Tamesha K.A. Andrews, Starr-Brianna D. Wells, Christopher J. Lawhorn, Jr., Dakaria A.J. Andrews, Andre E.C. Andrews, Lundon B. Bediako, Mykalah A. Joseph, Sa’rya D. Bediako, Antwan T. Proctor, Jr., and Angel Skye R. Proctor; and her great-grandchildren, Xavier Elijah McCauley and Jasiah McCauley. She is also survived by her siblings Joseph Mills, Keith Mills, Amelia Humpherson, Sylvia Mills, Lucinda Francis, and Georgiana Dofoe, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. She spent her final years in Florida near her children and grandchildren, facing illness with courage and unwavering faith. She will be deeply missed, yet her love, strength, and generous spirit will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched.
Family and Friends Viewing will be held on Jan. 6, 2026, at Divine Chapel, 129 Peter’s Rest, from 3 p.m.–5 p.m.
Funeral Services will take place on Jan. 7, 2026, with viewing at 9:00 a.m. and service at 10:00 a.m. at the Christiansted Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Interment will follows at Kingshill Cemetery.
