CIB Investigates Death of Man Found in Estate Cottage

A concerned citizen reported to the 911 Emergency Call Center that there was a man down at a junkyard located in Estate Cottage, Christiansted, on Tuesday, Jan. 13, at approximately 8:19 a.m., reported the Virgin Islands Police Department.

Fire and Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to the scene. Upon their arrival, the male was pronounced dead. Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives were present at the scene where the lifeless body of a male was observed with an injury to his head, according to the police report.

At this time, detectives are still conducting an investigation and are awaiting a next of kin to provide positive identification of the male. The VIPD urges anyone with information on this matter to contact 911, the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-778-2211 or Crime Stoppers VI at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).
