Arthur John-Baptiste Dies 76

Arthur “Kenty” John-Baptiste, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, was born on July 27, 1949, and peacefully passed away on March 18, 2026. Arthur will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and the lasting impact he made on the lives of those who knew and loved him.

Arthur was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Jean-Baptiste/John-Baptiste; his mother, Maudiana Melius John-Baptiste; his sister, Laurencia Jean-Baptiste; his brothers, Raymond Rudolph Melius and Isidore Griffith; and his nephew, Jonathan Jean-Baptiste.

He leaves to cherish his memories his loving children: his sons Jerry Daniel, Jim John-Baptiste, Jeremiah John-Baptiste, and Samuel “Sparky” Jonas (adopted); and his daughters Lorna Coker and Maudiana John-Baptiste. He is also survived by his daughters-in-law Audre J. Cook, Stacy John-Baptiste, Sandey W. John-Baptiste; his stepson Aaron; and his son-in-law Troy Coker. Arthur’s legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Tre Coker, Loryn Coker, Mariah Cook-Daniel, Annie Hirose, Vaughn Arthurton Jr., SaVaughna John-Baptiste, Jimiah John-Baptiste, Xaria Barrera, Donovan Barrera, Allayeah John-Baptiste, Tamyah John-Baptiste, Kaylah John-Baptiste, Jade John-Baptiste, and Kelsey Render. He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Dominique Jenkins and Amira Rogers.

He is further survived by his brothers Frederick John-Baptiste, Augustus John-Baptiste, Winston Augustin, and Junior Branch; and his sisters Allison Jean-Baptiste, Cynthia Jean-Baptiste, Anna Tucker, Rosemary Francis, Nicea John-Baptiste, Petrina John-Baptiste, Mirand John-Baptiste, Samantha John-Baptiste, Zita Mathurin, Jessica Robinson, and Merlyn Robinson.

Arthur also leaves behind many beloved relatives and special friends including Larry Letang, Francis Jimenez, Julian Santana-Severino, Thomas Hyk, Custom Builders, Priscilla John-Baptiste, Donald “Danny” Liburd, Jamal Mingo, Jovan “Street” Mingo, Kenneth Christopher, Kamau Kambui, John Hunt, Mikey Flavius (cousin), Eliud Richard, Rudolph Payne, Triffany Mingo, Claudius Thomas, Kevin Christian, Vern Christian, Vivian, Hurshell, Shaylah and Lance Greenaway, Alicia Ambrose and James and Agnes Verhoff, along with many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

A private family and friends viewing will be held (information will be shared by immediate family).

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 10, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Viewing will begin at 9 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
