With profound sadness, yet with the hope found in Jesus Christ, we announce the passing of Patrick Joseph Chamberlain, who entered into eternal rest on June 29, 2026, at the age of 49.
Born on April 19, 1977, in Pennsylvania, Patrick moved to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, with his family in 1982. He attended Peace Corps School for kindergarten, Ulla F. Muller Elementary School, Wayne Aspinall Middle School, and graduated from Charlotte Amalie High School, Class of 1993.
From an early age, Patrick developed a love for automobiles while helping his stepfather, Jacob Frett, Jr., at his mechanic shop after school. What began with sweeping floors and lending a helping hand grew into a lifelong passion for cars, racing, and mechanics. Patrick enjoyed racing in both St. Croix and St. John, where he created lasting memories with family and friends who proudly cheered him on.
Patrick worked as a Commercial Appliance Repair Technician, specializing in commercial appliances and laundry equipment. He was known for his mechanical ability, strong work ethic, and willingness to help anyone in need.
Outside of work, Patrick was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. Every morning began with Good Morning Football, and he could enthusiastically discuss every player, position, statistic, and game. He also loved basketball, fast cars, and spending time with family and friends.
Patrick possessed a remarkable imagination and a creative spirit. For years, he dreamed of writing a movie screenplay. When he finally began putting his ideas on paper, he discovered a passion that brought him great joy and excitement. His creativity reflected his ability to dream, inspire, and see possibilities where others saw obstacles.
Patrick will be remembered most for his generous heart. He quietly helped those around him, often putting the needs of others before his own. Whether helping a friend, assisting his family, supporting Barnabas Ministry in delivering supplies to those in need, or simply showing up when someone needed encouragement, Patrick never hesitated to give of himself.
His greatest act of love came when his stepfather became ill. Patrick moved home to help care for him and, after his passing, chose to remain with his mother so she would not have to live alone. His selfless devotion to his family reflected the kind, compassionate, and loyal man he was.
Although Patrick never had children of his own, he was a loving father figure to Isabell, Amaya, Athasia Nina D. Matias, and Athalia Annero D. Matias, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Several months before his passing, Patrick made the most important decision of his life by accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. His faith brought him renewed hope and peace, and his family finds comfort in knowing he now rests safely in the presence of the Lord.
Patrick was preceded in death by his father, Patrick Chamberlain, and his stepfather, Jacob Frett, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted mother, Rosemary Sauter Frett; his sister, Tammy Amaro (John); his brothers, Michael Kiselevach (Maureen), Darren Frett (Maileny), Jacob Frett III (Cassy), Jacoi Frett, and John Bassler (Rona); his stepsisters, Donna Frett Gregory, Jasmine Hodge (Derrick), Keema Newsome, Kenya Rowe (Richard), Khaliel Teal, Reshma Frett, Juanita Frett, and Jeanine Frett; his stepbrothers, Raoul Frett (Jeannie), Theron Frett, Desirie Frett, Addison Frett, Aubrey Frett, and Jermaine Frett; his nieces, Danika Frett, Anjolina Frett, D’Kari Frett, and Kattrina Kiselevach; his nephews, Jeremy Persad, Jaden Amaro, Marck Kiselevach, Matthew Kiselevach, Amare’ Frett, Jacob Frett IV, JaKai Frett, and Alijah Frett; his cousins, Abigail Sauter, Paul J. Sauter, Joseph Sauter, Michelle Troy, and Anita Troy; his special friends Dwight Walker, Ricky Francois, Jermy Hunt, Karolina Richardson, and Joan N. Domingo; along with many beloved step-nieces, step-nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends too numerous to mention individually, all of whom will forever cherish his memory.
Though Patrick’s earthly journey ended far too soon, his kindness, loyalty, generosity, and unwavering love for family and friends will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.”Matthew 25:23
