Answer Desk: Man-Made Manhole Mess in Bovoni Being Addressed

A reader recently registered outrage at the “sewage” pooling in Bovoni on the road by the Clinton E. Phipps Racetrack, causing accidents and polluting the nearby “pristine” estuary known as Mangrove Lagoon on St. Thomas’ east end. 
No tires have been removed from the Anguilla Landfill on St. Croix, despite an agreement that that would happen.

Bovoni Community Gets Support in Its Grief

With the scent of fresh cut grass hanging in the moist air and the yelps and hoots of children playing, local and federal officials, mental health specialists, victim advocates and trauma experts offered support to a grieving Bovoni community Tuesday night.

Judge Calls WMA Landfill Progress Impressive but Inadequate

When Adrian Taylor, the interim director of the Waste Management Authority, appeared in federal court on Tuesday, he reported progress taking place at the territory’s two landfills. District Court Judge Curtis Gomez called the efforts impressive.
