Cinnamon Bay Campground to Reopen in December, Friends Learn

Culture Bearers Share Traditions at STJ Folklife Festival

At the 29th annual Folklife Festival, culture bearer Julian Frett had a simple answer to the question of where he learned to make charcoal. “It’s my culture!” he said. Frett was one of dozens of St. Johnians who demonstrated island traditions.
Twins Luciah Polius and Loreli Hedrington serve up food as their grandmother and great aunt did for 20 years.

St. John Folklife Festival Starts Thursday

The Virgin Islands National Park and Virgin Islands Coral Reef National Monument will hold the 29th annual St. John Folklife Festival Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The festival is free to attend, and all ages are welcome.
