DLCA Nominee Vows Ramped-Up Consumer Protection, Faster Licensing

Richard Evangelista, Gov. Albert Bryan’s nominee to lead the Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs, told lawmakers Thursday his appointment signaled a new day for businesses and consumers, pledging a strengthened consumer protection division, a more efficient license application process and year-round compliance monitoring.

Gas Costs More on STT than STX; Online Chatter Calls for Pay-at-the-Pump

Gas prices continue to be more expensive on St. Thomas than on the island of St. Croix, according to figures from the Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs. At the same time, the public has begun expressing resentment with service stations, as few offer the ability to swipe a credit card at the service pump to purchase fuel.

Consumer Affairs Food Basket Survey Suggests St. John Has Priciest Groceries

It looks like groceries are expensive everywhere and a little more expensive on St. John, based on the Department of Licensing and Consumer Affair's territory-wide food basket findings released this week.
