Brief: VIPD's Martinez Reassigned Following Police Complaint

Aug. 29, 2006 — Ray Martinez, director of the Internal Affairs Bureau of the V.I. Police Department, has been reassigned to his former post as Labor Relations Manager for the VIPD.
According to a press released issued Tuesday by the department, Cpl. Mark Corneiro, Insular Investigation Bureau supervisor, has been tapped to replace Martinez and will serve as the interim supervisor for Internal Affairs.
Martinez has been in the spotlight in recent weeks after his wife filed a police complaint against him on St. Croix. The details of the report have not been released, however.
According to the release, both reassignments are effective immediately.
