Sept. 18, 2008 – Gloria S. Branker, formerly of St. Croix, died in Akron, Ohio, on Friday, Sept. 12, after a brief illness. She was 84 years old.
She is survived by children: Byron Branker, Sheryl Lawinski and Gloria Lynn Clarke; grandchildren: Christopher Lawinski, M.D., Michael Lawinski, Phillip Clarke and Jessica Clarke, Esq.; sons-in-law: Henry Lawinski, Raymond Clarke, M.D.; and daughter-in-law, Diane Branker. She is also survived by sister, Olive Anduze; brother, Leopold Macedon; aunt, Julia Gaton; niece: Margaret Register and family; nephews: William Sutton, Neil Petway, Michael, Eric and Kirk Ramos and families and the children of Leo Macedon; as well as many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Virgin Islands Cardiac Center, c/o Dr. Gregory Calliste, CEO, Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital, 4007 Estate Diamond Ruby, Christiansted, V.I. 00820.
There will be a viewing held at 10:30 a.m., and a funeral service at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 20, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Frederiksted. Interment will follow at Frederiksted Cemetery.
