Constitutional Convention Schedules St. Thomas Session for Dec. 9

Nov. 25, 2008 — A plenary session of the Fifth Constitutional Convention postponed in October because of Hurricane Omar has been rescheduled for Dec. 9.
The session will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 9 in the Small Business Development Center's conference room on the second floor of the Nisky Center. This plenary session is a continuation of the session postponed on Oct. 14 because of inclement weather, according to a news release from the Convention.
"The Christmas holiday season … will not diminish the quality of work being done for the people of these United States Virgin Islands," said Convention President Gerard Luz James II. "I want to assure the people of the United States Virgin Islands that as delegates, we continue to be committed to doing the people's business — completing and presenting the constitution."
The public is encouraged to attend all of the Convention's plenary sessions and committee meetings, the release said.
