Fifth Suspect Arrested in Mandahl Shooting Incident

St. Thomas resident Elvin Chinnery, 24, was arrested at about 1:30 p.m. Monday and charged with constructive possession of a firearm. He was the fifth suspect sought by police after a shooting incident last week.
Police received reports of shots being fired from a vehicle in Estate Mandahl on Nov. 1. When police intercepted the vehicle on Maude Proudfoot Drive, a man, later identified as Chinnery, ran from officers.
Police later discovered a .25 caliber handgun and a loaded magazine in the vehicle. The other people in the car were arrested that night.
Chinnery, who lives in Hospital Ground, was held on $35,000 bail. He was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending further court action.
