Police Find Body in Estate La Grange

The V.I. Police Department on Thursday discovered the body of a man who apparently had been shot to death in Estate La Grange on St. Croix.

The victim’s name was not released Friday morning pending notification of next of kin.

According to the police, at 3 p.m. Thursday, a person went to the VIPD Francis Command Zone B in Frederiksted and requested a welfare check. The person reporting said the subject had not been seen in a couple of days.

Officers made a check in the La Grange neighborhood and discovered the remains of a Caucasian male with what appears to be bullet wounds.

Police asked anyone with information on the crime to contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-778-2211. They also can call 911, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8477. Calls to Crime Stoppers that result in the resolution of a crime can qualify the tipster to an anonymous cash reward.
