Reward Increased for STX Arson Suspects’ Arrests

An additional $10,000 has been added to the reward being offered for the arrest of the people responsible for several arson fires that have taken place recently on St Croix.

The $10,000 is being offered by V.I. Paving for information leading to the arrest of the individual or individuals responsible for the destruction, determined as arson, of a CAT 323FL Track Excavator owned by the company.

The arson occurred during the evening hours of Sunday in the vicinity of Sion Farm.

The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also is requesting any information regarding the April 30 early morning fire at the Stop and Save Food Market as well as the May 8 fire at St. Croix Trading in the Mount Welcome area of Christiansted, V.I. Both fires have been determined to have been intentionally set. Both businesses additionally report the theft of cash and other items of value.

ATF is offering a reward in the amount of $10,000 for information on each of these incidents, bringing the total of arson rewards for St. Croix to $30,000.
