Limetree Bay Now Conducting Temperature Screening Across Facility

On-site health care personnel prepare to scan workers entering the Limetree Bay facility.

The executive management of Limetree Bay Refining LLC and Limetree Bay Terminals LLC (Limetree Bay) announced Friday that temperature screening was successfully implemented at all of the facility’s entry points. The new procedure is one of the company’s ongoing initiatives to ensure the health of everyone on site.

“Our response to COVID-19 continues to evolve in our efforts to assure the safety of all our personnel, and we will remain steadfast in our approach to combating the spread of this virus within our facility,” said Brian Lever, Limetree Bay president and CEO.

Limetree Bay launched the temperature screening process on Wednesday, April 8, at the facility’s Gate 2, and all employees and contractors entering that gate were scanned. On Thursday, all of the facility’s entry points were added to the process, and employees, contractors and visitors were temperature screened prior to entering the facility. No person scanned exhibited an elevated temperature.

Temperature screening is a requirement to enter the facility, and on-site health care workers are conducting the temperature scans. In accordance with guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), anyone registering a temperature above 100.4° F will be re-checked and evaluated, and referred for medical attention if the elevated temperature persists.

Limetree Bay continues to follow the guidance of the Virgin Islands Department of Health and the CDC in order to ensure that the company takes the necessary steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Limetree Bay continues to encourage its personnel to practice good hygiene and social distancing to ensure the health and safety of the team as well as their family members.
