Police Charge Hospital Ground Man with Possessing Unregistered Firearm

At about 4:45 p.m. Sunday, police arrested Akeem Dijhani Julien, age 24 of Hospital Ground, and charged him with possession of an unlicensed firearm.

According to the V.I. Police Department, Julien was seen on surveillance placing a black firearm into a duffel bag in Hospital Ground, in the vicinity of Jah Yard, on April 8. He was detained by Homeland Security Investigations at the Cyril E. King Airport attempting to leave the island. HSI contacted VIPD detectives, who placed Julien under arrest.

Bail for Julien was set at $25,000. Unable to post bail, he was turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending his advice of rights hearing.
