A tropical wave several hundred miles east of the Windward Islands continues to produce disorganized showers and thunderstorms but shows little chance of tropical development, according to the National Hurricane Center.

In its 8 a.m. Monday update, the NHC said slight development of this system is possible before environmental conditions become hostile for development on Tuesday.

The wave is forecast to move through the Lesser Antilles on Tuesday and could produce locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds on some of those islands.

The NHC gave the system a 10 percent chance of developing into a storm in the next five days.
