The Virgin Islands Department of Education – State Office of Special Education (SOSE) will release the results of its 10th Annual Parental Satisfaction Survey at a public meeting to be held virtually from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, March 29, via Zoom.
Surveys were conducted in both the St. Croix and St. Thomas-St. John districts, with data being used to identify and enhance services that lead to improving academic and functional outcomes for children and youth with disabilities throughout the territory.
The objective of the survey was to gather and report trend data for the 2020-2021 school year in one of the 17 indicators in the State Performance Plan (SPP) and Annual Performance Report (APR), which measures the “percent of parents with a child receiving special education services who report that schools facilitate parent involvement as a means of improving services and results for children with disabilities.
Parents and guardians of children receiving special education and related services, State Office of Special Education team members, the Virgin Islands Advisory Panel on Special Education members, district offices of special personnel and other interested persons are encouraged to attend.
The Parental Satisfaction Survey was conducted by the University of the Virgin Islands, Eastern Caribbean Center.
