Feb. 25, 6 p.m.
Officers with the Virgin Islands Police Department Patrol Division along with the Criminal Investigation Bureau responded to a gunshot victim at Simmons Alley. The victim was transported via ambulance to Schneider Regional Medical Center.
Upon arrival, contact was made with the victim who stated he was at the entrance to Simmons Alley talking to a friend when a gray SUV pulled up and started firing in their direction. The victim stated that he didn’t have time to react but he saw his friend running as he heard multiple shots being fired at him. He felt one round hit him, which caused him to spin around, then he started to walk away from the area where the SUV was firing from.
The victim then called 911 for help and his friend stayed and assisted him until emergency personnel arrived. The victim sustained one bullet wound to the upper left shoulder. The victim had to be hospitalized for his injuries until further notice.
Feb. 16, 2020, 11:30 p.m.
Central Dispatch received a call of shots fired in the area of Oswald Harris Court housing community on St. Thomas. Units from the Richard N. Callwood Command along with units from the Criminal Investigation Bureau traveled to Oswald Harris Court and located a vehicle with two unresponsive men inside.
The males appeared to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds about their bodies. Emergency Medical Technicians, who were on scene, concluded that the men did not have any vital signs. The males were identified by next of kin as 23-year-old Carlos Ingles and 25-year-old Endry Montero Bacili.
March 29, 2020, 7:45 p.m.
The 911 emergency call center was notified of shots fired in Estate Barren Spot, St.Croix. Upon arrival, VIPD officers discovered a vehicle in the roadway and the driver with several gunshots wounds. The driver, later identified as 23-year-old Luis Perez of Castle Burke, was transported to the Gov. Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital for treatment, and later succumbed to his injuries.
