WAPA: Broken Mainline Affecting Water Pressure in Charlotte Amalie

broken 24-inch mainline on the waterfront apron of Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, is affecting water pressure in a wide swath of the downtown area, the V.I. Water and Power Authority reported Wednesday morning.

The break has been isolated, but because of the isolation, much of the downtown Charlotte Amalie district will experience little to no water pressure, according to WAPA.

In addition to the downtown core, neighborhoods as far west as Kerwin Terrace and as far  east as Estate Bakkero will also be impacted, it said.

Water maintenance crews have mobilized and are actively working on repairs, WAPA said.
