St. John Celebration Takes Center Stage in the U.S. Virgin Islands

The annual St. John Celebration honors the rich history and resilience of the island’s people. Now in its 69th year, revelers are invited to converge on the island paradise for a bevy of celebrations, pageants, food fairs, boat races, fetes, and parades. The official schedule was announced by the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism and Division of Festivals Thursday.

We welcome one and all to join us for this year’s St. John Celebration,” says Joseph Boschulte, Commissioner, U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism. “This a longstanding tradition which spotlights our people, our home, and our history, which this year is enhanced by the historical emancipation anniversary.”
Beginning on June 10th, this year’s theme, “A Colorful and Cultural Jamboree,” commences with the Pan-O-Rama, followed by three weeks of non-stop events and is culminating with the Celebration Parade led by 2023 Parade Marshal George Lewis.
“This year’s celebration is gearing up to be the best yet,” explains Ian Turnbull, Director of the USVI Division of Festivals. “The pride and culture of St. John and the entire USVI, from cultural celebrations to nightly performances and the highly anticipated Love City Parade, will be on full display for the world to see.”
