MY HURRICANE SEASON PRAYER

Our Father up in Heaven
Hear this our solemn prayer
As we enter the Hurricane Season
Please keep us in Your care.
We’ve experienced much sorrow,
Severe pain and tragedy
And we pray that all these trials
Will bring us close to Thee.
We were battered, we were bruised,
We were bent and broken down
But we’re asking for Your Power
To lift us from the ground.
You are stronger than mahogany
Tougher than our roofs of blue
Sturdier than our lofty poles
That’s why we look to You.
Keep our churches, keep our schools
Keep our businesses and more
Keep our homes in Your mighty hands
From the ceiling to the floor.
Cover us with your protection
Shield our hearts and minds from fear
May any storms that threaten
From our shores be far, not near.
We thank you Lord, for hearing us,
We have trusted You this long,
Keep us always resilient,
Valiant and VI strong!

Unlike many news organizations, we haven't put up a paywall - we want to keep our journalism as open as we can. Our sites are more popular than ever, but advertising revenues are falling - so you can see why we could use your help. Our independent journalism costs time, money and hard work to keep you informed, but we do it because we believe that it matters.
