STX School Monitor Turns Herself in for Assault of Minor

A St. Croix school monitor turned herself into authorities Thursday after a warrant was issued for her arrest due to allegedly assaulting a student on school grounds, the V.I. Police Department reported.

At approximately 6:39 p.m., Spanesia K. Anderson turned herself in at the Wilbur H. Francis Command Police Station pursuant to a warrant issued for her arrest on Thursday. The warrant was issued for child abuse regarding Anderson, 40, assaulting a minor child while conducting her school monitor duties at the Eulalie Rivera School, according to the police report.

Anderson’s bail was set at $1,500. She faces additional charges of simple assault and
battery, aggravated assault and battery, and disturbance of the peace, police said.
