Albert Alexander Mountgomery Lynch Dies at 58

Albert Alexander Mountgomery Lynch

Master Organist Albert Alexander Mountgomery Lynch died on Saturday, Dec. 9, at the age of 58, at the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital.

Albert A. M. Lynch was preceded in death by his mother, Syliva S. Lynch; brother, Jeremiah “Jerry” Lynch; and aunts: Pamela Lynch and Ernestine Lynch-Slaven.

He is survived by his father, Robert A. Lynch; stepmother, Elaine A. Lynch; daughter, Naysa R. S. Lynch; brothers: Stanford Lynch and Berisford F. Lynch; sister, Carmen Lynch; sister-in-law, Joann F. Penn-Lynch; niece, Tyeefah Lynch; and nephews: Jahquiel “Jabby” Lynch, Berisford “BJ” Lynch II, Antuane “TJ” Booker, Tahj Booker and Shaquille Lynch; great nephew, Jamir Lynch.

He is also survived by aunts: Annetta Lynch, Veronica Lynch PhD., Marjorie Stevens and Elenora Stevens-David; uncles: Elrick “Pat” Beazer, Eustace Lynch, Tyrone Lynch and George Stevens; uncles-in-law: Waston David Sr. and Pernell Slaven Sr.; cousins: Pernelle Slaven Jr., Charmaine Slaven and family, Natasha Slaven-Bathn and family, Lencia David, LeVar David, Livetta Cole, Elizabeth Stevens-Gumbs, Watson David Jr. and family, Bruce Browne and family.

Oher survivors include cousins: Curtis and Sylvia Stevens, Linda Charles-Christian and family, Don Spencer and family, and Elizabeth Stevens-Gumbs and family; former spouse, Monique Lynch-Richards;

special friends Rt. Rev. Ambrose Gumbs and Phillis Gumbs, Fernella Daniel, CAHS Class of 1984 and John F. Cahill; and godfather, Stanford Joseph.

Affiliated organizations and churches: Memorial Moravian Church, Shiloh, City and Philadelphia Seventh-day Adventist Churches; St. Thomas Reformed Church; The Cathedral Church of All Saints, Saint Andrew’s and St. Luke’s Episcopal Churches; Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral; and The Jewish Synagogue.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to share in the Homegoing Celebration of Albert Lynch as follows: The first viewing will be held from 4-6 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 2, at Turnbull’s Funeral Chapel. The second viewing will commence at 9 a.m. followed by the service at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3, at the Memorial Moravian Church, 17 Norre Gade. Interment will be at the Eastern Moravian Cemetery, Hospital Ground, St. Thomas, V.I.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Albert Lynch Organ Music Scholarship Fund on the day of the funeral service. Make checks payable to: Memorial Moravian Church.
