Good Up Podcast Gears Up for the Release of Season 10

The Good Up Podcast has made huge strides in the global podcast arena, accumulating almost 80,000 podcast downloads and receiving several accolades, including a feature in Siti Girl Magazine in 2023. Season 10 is set to premiere at the end of February.

Crucian-born Jeaiza Quiñones Ivory, the visionary behind the Good Up Podcast, began her journey in the podcasting world in December 2019 with the launch of the Beautiful People Podcast.

“At this point in my life, I had accumulated so many valuable life experiences and insights. I had met so many monumental people in my life who had changed the trajectory of where my life would ultimately go. I had learned so much and knew that I wanted to share this wisdom with others. I initially considered writing, as I was already familiar with the blogging world, but I also knew that the popularity of podcasting was rising, whereas traditional blogging was fading away,” said Quiñones Ivory.

In the initial stages of the podcast, Quiñones Ivory saw gradual growth in her listenership as she targeted nuanced topics like mother-daughter relationships, co-parenting, and sexual safety within our community, inviting guests on the show who could provide expertise and meaningful input. One of those guests, Deidre Ritter, would leave such a profound impact on Quiñones Ivory that she would be invited on the podcast as a permanent cohost.

“When Deidre first came on the show as a guest, I knew that I could spend hours talking to her about anything. Podcasting on your own is nice, but it became more fulfilling when I had someone else who could share in the energy in front of the mic and behind the scenes. I knew we could make something beautiful together,” Quiñones Ivory said.

After the first few seasons together, Ritter and Quiñones Ivory decided that it was time to rebrand the podcast in a way that included the vision of both hosts, leading to the platform being renamed the Good Up Podcast.

“I feel there is a deep concentration of talent that exists in the Virgin Islands. I listened to this podcast from its very first episode and knew that it would be successful. Jeaiza and I are a special duo. We have an organic connection, and we aren’t afraid to cover complex topics. We love our community and we want to give back in a way that feels authentic and fulfilling,” said Ritter.

One of the unique facets of the Good Up Podcast is that they pour a lot of effort and resources into the quality of the episodes they release, from ensuring their guests are qualified to cover specific topics to purchasing high-quality equipment that will yield better audio and video results. Their unwavering desire to produce exceptional content has gotten them recognition as a team pick by Good Pod, a podcasting page that draws attention to podcasts that are gaining traction in the podcasting world.

Additionally, they have charted several times on Apple Podcasts, a feat only a small percentage of podcasts ever accomplish. “I see the podcast going very far. Everything we do in the future will be centered around uplifting our community and creating opportunities for people who may want to pursue higher education or a career in podcasting,” Ritter said.

The Good Up Podcast is planning to premiere Season 10 on Tuesday, Feb. 27, where they will continue to tackle more nuanced conversations and invite more knowledgeable guests.

The community is invited to listen to Good Up Podcast on the Apple Podcast app, Spotify, or the Good Up Podcast website.
