Roderick Adelbert James Dies at 76

Roderick Adelbert James

Roderick Adelbert James, also known as “Rojo/Jolly J,” of Green Street, Christiansted, died on March 14. He was 76 years old.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Cynthia A. James and Paul A. James; sisters: Ena M. Edney and Pearline A. James; and niece, Nadine Edney.

He is survived by his sister, Myrna Patricia James Roberts; brother, Randall L. James (Pate); godmother, Josephine B. Hector; godsister, Janine Hector; sister-in-law, Beverly Robinson James; and brother-in-law, Thomas W. Roberts Sr.

He is also survived by nieces: Beverly A. Edney Esq., Renee D. Dowling Esq., Rhea D. Dowling, Myrna L. Roberts, Cynthia A. Roberts Dumas, Bevrina James Thiam and Denetra James Robinson; and nephews: Victor H. Edney Jr. (Fish), Robert D. Dowling, Reuben D. Dowling, Roosevelt D. Dowling Jr., Thomas W. Roberts Jr. (JR), Paul L. James and Randall J. James (JJ).

Other survivors include cousins: Darryl George, Roy George, Deborah-Ann Christopher, Cecily Ferdinand, Joy-Ann Arrndel and Myrtle Roberts; special cousins: Daniel (Dan) James and Gerda James; great-nieces, great-nephews and many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

The viewing will take place at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., Monday, March 25, at Lord God of Sabaoth Lutheran Church. Interment will be at Christiansted Cemetery.
