At approximately 9:49 p.m. Friday, police officers responded to shots fired in Christiansted town in the vicinity of the Big Master Bar and Nightclub, the V.I. Police Department reported.
Upon arrival at the scene, they observed an unknown adult male with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds to the body, lying on the shoulder of the roadway near the entrance of the nightclub, according to the report.
Emergency medical technicians later arrived on the scene and found no signs of life. The individual was later identified by his next of kin as 50-year-old Emmanuel Premier, the owner of the Big Master Bar and Nightclub, stated the report.
According to the report, witnesses in the area observed Premier engaged in a physical altercation moments before he was shot.
